Real Men Wear Pink

In the 20th-centenary in America an article in the trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department in June 1918 said the following:

“The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger colour, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.”

The colour forecast on WGSN showed that pink will be a huge trend for the Spring/Summer clothing for men for 2014.  Many people don’t know this, but pink can’t be classified as a colour of its own, because it is only a lighter shade of red.

Today the majority of men still think that pink is only a colour that girls should wear.  I would disagree with them.  When dressed appropriately, pink is one of the most flattering colours for anyone and it can go from a laid back day look to a sophisticated evening look.
