Special Blog Post - JD Engelbrecht

JD Engelbrecht is a professional dancer, freelance choreographer and model.  Keeping in mind what he does, you can just imagine that this guy already has an awesome fashion style.  When taking his job into consideration it is rather obvious that he is more aware of what he wears as his clothing should not be skin tight or too frumpy as both will affect him when dancing, so clothing that allows him easy movement is a big must.

Due to the fact that a big part of JD's life involves networking he feels that it is important to keep up to date with the latest trends.  He loves wearing a good pair of trousers, bootleg or tailored, as it accentuates his figure, but still allows easy movement.  I strongly believe that this sleek, classic yet masculine style will only improve his reputation as a dancer.

JD loves wearing monochromatic colours and keeping it simple with earthy tones, but still sometimes like bringing in his favourite colour - turquoise.  For some fashion inspiration he likes to see what Nick Jonas wears and JD also feels that Zac Efron has a more serious look that also inspires him.  Although he always looks put together, JD says he is horrible at doing shopping - because he can sometimes be very indecisive.

For the inspiration for this look I decided to focus more on Brazil.  JD says that he has been privileged to have danced abroad and worked with plenty of Brazilians.  If there is one nation's people who knows how to dance - then it is the Brazilians.

So as a dancer, JD is always on the move.  I thought it would be best to style a "from day to night look" for him, where he can simply change his shoes and pants and be ready for a night out.  It was rather interesting for me to style this type of look as I had to keep in mind that JD must still be able to move in the clothing and it should still accentuate his figure.

The key item of this look is the Biak Jersey in a Milk and Grey colour.  This monochromatic knitwear will look good with a wide variety of pants.  So for the day time, more active look, I decided on the black Nike pants and Tan/White Relay Luxe Hi-Top sneakers with a striped cap that has a mustache detail.  If JD wants to take this top and mix it up for a more chilled, put together look for the evening he can then wear the  Slim Chino's in a Beige/Khaki colour, pair it up with Boots in a Mid Brown colour and add a Chunky Rib Silcone Watch.  To ensure that he can keep all his belongings together while traveling I decided to add the Little America Backpack in a grey colour.  JD can feel fresh throughout the day by using the Carolina Herrera fragrance, Chic, for men.

Special Blog Post - JP Robberts - Woolworths Exclusive Look

JP Robberts is a model, singer and owns his own business.  This tall, dark and handsome young man is also a finalist for Mr. South Africa 2015.  Being in the entertainment industry it surely helps him to keep up to date with all the latest fashion trends - and JP's looks is never disappointing.

In the questionnaire I send to the people who are interested in being part of my special blog posts I have a question which asks them to describe themselves in 5 words.  JP described himself as a bubbly, energetic, friendly, humble and proud person which I knew was true because the first contacted JP and asked if he would be part of my blog he was so nice about it.

Styling outfits for guys can sometimes be a bit more challenging than styling outfits for the ladies due to the fact that us ladies has so much more options.  Sometimes it feels to me like the mass media focuses largely on the female fashion industry and so easily neglects menswear.  Although styling can be a bit tricky when you also do not know the person as well, I absolutely loved styling an outfit for JP.

With his favourite time of the day being dawn and the location in the world he would like to travel to most is Paris - I had the inspiration for my styled outfit all figured out.  The French has a very simplistic, yet eye catching style.

Paris at dawn is a perfect time to do some exploring.

This outfit, right from the start, just looked like something to be worn in Paris. Perfect at dawn to explore Paris - this Urban Nylon Backpack from Country Road will keep everything that you have to carry with you safe.  I then decided to use the Woven Track Pant, also from Country Road as it will be very comfortable for this journey.   By adding the  Indigo Gingham Shirt also from Country Road it gives this look a more "put together" feeling.  I then decided to keep the rest of the look simple by only adding the Leather Desert Boots and the Metal Mesh Watch.  Round this look off with some DKNY for men and JP will be ready for his journey exploring Paris at dawn.
I believe that JP will look stunning in this outfit! If you want more information about JP, please click on the image in the side tool bar (just above the total page views section) and you will be directed to his Facebook page.

Special Blog Post - Janine Snyders

Janine Snyders is the Editor-in-Chief for Pols magazine, which focuses on fashion, lifestyle and entertainment and is available in South Africa.  This talented woman is also the publicist for LynnĂ© de Jager, a previous Mrs. SA.  Working constantly with the media, Janine must keep up to date with the latest in fashion trends.  She also believes that the first impression made by a person is very important and when you look good, you will also feel good.

Janine describes herself as a workaholic with a passion for life and what she does.  Her edgy style complements her figure and completes her look.  I love seeing how people can create an edgy look and stay true to themselves in the process and not to be influenced by the media as much.

The first thing many people will see when they look at Janine is her stunning hair-do.  She thanks her hair stylist, Cornel Nel, from Follicle Hair Atelier in Pretoria for the way she does her hair.  Janine also said that her hair is one of her best features and this can be seen clearly as she owns each and every style.

When I asked Janine what are the five items she cannot go a day without she said the following:

Her phone.
Coffee - and lots of it.

I used this as one of the largest inspiration to style her outfit.  I also found out that her favourite clothing item is her leather jacket.  This of course also helped me to style an outfit I thought she would look great in.  The main focus I had with the outfit was that Janine loves really really late nights - this is the time of the day where she can be creative with nothing that will steal her attention from what she is doing.

This look is perfect for a late night brainstorm session with friends in a comfortable coffee shop. Although Janine's favourite clothing item is a leather jacket - I decided to still use leather in this look, but just by using this texture in the pants.  So this modern black leather pant with side zip details will look stunning with this Intarsia Knitted top with grey and white accents.  Pair this up with some white and grey Vivian Sneakers and this look is already going somewhere.  As a brand ambassador for Stiki, I decided to use a camera shaped broach with cork heart earrings.  Sticking to the more natural feel with the accessories I decided on this stunning WeWood watch and of course the linen bag with the words "Bag of Tricks" was just the perfect addition to this look.  Finish it off with some Tommy Hilfiger fragrance and Janine is ready for some creative thinking.

Leatherette Leggings available at Foschini.
Intarsia Knitted Sweater available at Woolworths.
Vivian Sneakers available at Woolworths.
Camera Broach available at Stiki.
Cork Heart Earrings available at Stiki.
WeWood Date Watch in Brown available at Spree.
Linen bag available at Mr. Price.
Tommy Girl fragrance available at Spree.

With Janine's statement hair-do's and wonderful personality - I think she will look stunning in the outfit I styled.
