Patchwork Denim inspired New York Fashion Week look

New York Fashion Week never disappoints. The concept of patchwork denim is not a new one and is often done DIY style – and the good news is that it is making a comeback. For Spring/Summer 2016 designers took this look and gave it more of a “recycled” feel with more than one way in which they tried out these new looks. Designers such as Pam & Gela and Rodebjer have gone for the more recycled look. On the other hand, Rachel Comey went for a more minimalist look with the patchwork and VFiles’s look will definitely be for the braver fashionistas out there.

This “patchwork” trend can be incorporated in many different ways. The look I styled has a more bohemian feel to it that is perfect for a lazy summer’s day. I decided to use the patchwork denim trend in the jeans and go all white and gold for the rest of this look.

First of all is the white crop tank top that will look perfect paired up with the lace kimono white jacket with fringes at the bottom and at the end of the armholes. When it comes to accessories I decided to keep things simple, but somewhat out of the ordinary. First of all is the stunning nude block heel sandal that will look great with a wide variety of looks. The geometric cuff and snake ring, both in gold, will give this look an edgy feel especially when it is paired up with the black and gold round sunglasses. When I started styling this look I knew from the start that the Stiki bag that is actually used as a make-up bag will look perfect and complete this look. Be sure to check out their website for more of these catchy make-up bags.
