Designer Crush - Ann-Lee Couture
I love discovering new designers in South Africa,
especially unique, fashionable and exclusive designers like Ann-Lee Couture. About a year ago,
Ann-Lee Lamprecht started her own label and in this short period of time she
has truly made great process dressing ladies like Rolene Strauss (Former Miss.
SA and Miss World), Christia Visser (Actress) and Marciel Hopkins (Miss SA
Finalist 2016). No matter what you say,
women like to be pampered and that is something that goes with the design
process. Ann-Lee always makes her
clients feel special and makes them look breathtaking in her designs. For now,
this brand is still very exclusive and you can visit their studio in Upington
if you want a special made Ann-lee Couture creation.

The
very talented Ann-Lee was raised in Namibia, but did her N.Dip Mode at the
University of Bloemfontein. In the year 2010 she really started going into the
fashion industry where she worked at a private bridal boutique before she had
the opportunity to start her own label in 2015. Ann-Lee works with a small team
at Ann-Lee Couture, but everybody is
passionate about this brand. I am truly amazed with what this designer brand
has accomplished in the one year it has been started. I am so excited to see
what they have in store for us and hopefully one of these days this designer
brand will be available nationally.

Elegant, arty, simplistic and feminine.
These are only a few words to describe Marciel
Hopkins, a Miss SA 2016 finalist’s, personal fashion style. This elegant young
lady aspires to be an image consultant/life coach which means that fashion
plays a vital role in her life. To Marciel it is of utmost importance that a
woman feels beautiful in her own skin and to have confidence in the clothes she
wears. Marciel’s personal style is not
affected by brand names at all and she likes to wear clothes that fits her
mood/vibe she has for that particular day.
The inspiration I had in styling this look for
Marciel came from her strong, yet adaptable personality. It is amazing to see
how young ladies out there can inspire other people by just being who they are –
and Marciel is most definitely one of them. Being a Miss SA finalist Marciel
travels a lot so this was something that was very important to keep in mind
while styling her looks. Marciel also loves wearing strong colors like red,
blue purple and green, but for this look I styled I wanted to combine some
colors with neutral colors as well. When it comes to accessories I wanted to
keep things simple and in nude colors – so that it goes with all three dress
options. The grey dress’s color is simple, but the silhouette and cut makes it
perfect for Marciel. The navy and white striped dress has a really strong feel
to it and will look effortlessly chick. Lastly I chose the swing coral dress
with a print. All three of these dresses silhouettes are different – ensuring that
Marciel will have a different look with each one of them. This Woolworths
Exclusive look would not have been complete if I didn’t add some Mimco and
Country Road accessories in as well – ensuring that Marciel can dress her looks
up or tone it down a bit.

Affordable, stylish and ready for 2016
This year certainly
started off with one big BANG! This is my first blog post where I have put some
effort and time into and I would love to share the vision I have for The Carolina Factor with all of you.
I am currently busy
with my Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Consumer Sciences where I will be specializing in consumers’ behavior with regard to online shopping, focusing
on consumers’ perceived risks towards online shopping and what coping
strategies they use to handle these perceived risks. Juggling my responsibilities as a master’s
student, part-time lecturer, freelance blogger, stylist and fashion columnist I
also have developed this terrible habit of thinking that I have so much free
time while in actual fact sleeping has become somewhat of a luxury. So the blog
posts for 2016 will be short and sweet, bringing you some strong and
helpful styling tips. With my student status still affecting my fashion choices,
the main focus of 2016 will be on affordable
fashion – how to get the designer inspired look for less. I am a strong
believer in fashion for all – trying to inspire the South African consumer
market with ideas on how to look fabulous and stylish on a tight budget. Together
with this “affordable fashion” vision
I’m still continuing with my special blog posts and I’m so excited about all
the stunning people that I will be working with in 2016 with a few special
collaborations as well.

I am also proud to
announce that I’m the official blogger for Theron
& Theron designs and will collaborate with Wooden Lace as well, bringing you all the latest updates on new
merchandise and news. It’s amazing working with brands started by inspirational
young women – empowering others to also work hard and to do what they love. I’ve
also been so privileged to work with the amazing Louw Breytenbach from Die
Reviewer, writing a review about Theron & Theron designs and I’m even
more excited to work with him the future as well.

launched this month showcasing all of their amazing designs. Simoné and Berné Theron has been working hard and
today I want to share one of their new designs with all of you.
The Rita
Tote bag is truly a unique design that is something every lady out there
needs! Theron & Theron understands the fact that every woman is unique and
wants to showcase their individuality through fashion and accessories. With the
Rita Tote, these two talented sisters
decided to combine leather and lace and they came up with an amazing
product! I strongly believe that this unique handbag design will be perfect for
women with a wide variety of styles and preferences.
Be sure to check out the SARIE tent at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn where Theron & Theron
products will be showcased between the 24th and 30th of
March.
